Title: Excel Income Tracking Dashboard
Overview:
This multifaceted project reflects my proficiency in data analysis and visualization. It’s centered around a custom income analysis dashboard designed specifically for my earnings. Additionally, I’ve extended my expertise to create an educational tutorial series on my YouTube channel, along with a noteworthy feature—goal-based conditional formatting.
The dashboard presented here is a copy of my original and is intended to showcase it’s interactive features. While the user-defined goal will update automatically, the charts will not do so. In order to update those you’ll need to use the ‘Refresh all data connections’ button. It is the first button located at the bottom right-hand corner of the viewer. In the original workbook the refreshing is handled by a macro and triggers whenever the start date is changed.
AS previously mentioned this is a reformatted version of my original workbook. In the original all tables and any respective charts, appear on their own worksheets. This helps to keep things tidy and easy to understand. The version presented here has been condensed into a single sheet and the appropriate connections reconfigured to maintain interactivity. You can have a look at all the associated data driving the dashboard by scrolling down in the embedded viewer.
Key Highlights:
1. Data Analysis: I meticulously gathered and structured months’ worth of personal income data. Using Excel, I created a formula-driven system that dynamically generates income data tables based on user-defined start dates.
2. Data Visualization: The project incorporates data visualization solutions that offer clear insights into income on a per week basis. It features interactive charts for comprehensive analysis.
3. Custom Sorting: To accommodate my work week that commences on Wednesdays, I implemented a specialized sorting order for days of the week, ensuring a logical and chronological data presentation.
4. User Interaction: The dashboard empowers users to set their income goals in US dollars. Dynamic charts update in real-time, displaying progress both in percentage and dollar amounts.
5. Tutorial Series: In line with the project, I launched an educational YouTube channel, presenting a step-by-step video series. The series guides viewers through the process of creating an income analysis dashboard, equipping them with valuable data analysis skills.
6. Goal-Based Conditional Formatting: A distinctive feature of the dashboard is the implementation of conditional formatting. Cells change color based on their values in relation to the user-defined income goal, providing a visual representation of progress.
This project not only showcases my analytical and data visualization skills but also underscores my commitment to sharing knowledge. By offering a tutorial series and enhancing the dashboard with goal-based conditional formatting, I’ve made data-driven decision-making accessible and engaging for a broader audience.
